Fish For Life Project to Acheh

Assalamualaikum everyone. It has been quite a while since i updated my blog. It has been an emotional journey. I have gone through IELTS examinations, Math Portfolio, and as usual, many other assignments. Like my friend said, perhaps God gives me a mountain of assignments, to lead me back to Him. To think again, I have never imagine myself doing IB, but here i am in KMB doing IB. I still survive despite of all the work load. 

  Ok, here we go. I would like to introduce you to our charity project to Acheh. The aim of the project is to raise awareness on the importance of education to the kids in Acheh. The project is under Fish For Life Organization. This organization has been doing international charity project for the past 4 years. Our previous seniors went to Jogjakarta. This year, we have decided to change the venue and go to a completely new place. It might be a bit risky, because we might not be very familiar with the place. However, we have made contact with one of Malaysia's organisation in Indonesia, not to forget the local community. They really have high hope on us. The "ketua kampung" and the rest of the villagers cannot wait for our arrivals. So do we! 

  There are many plans ahead of us. It is not easy to just come up with a charity project. Our proposals got rejected twice by our advisors for a few reasons. I believe that obstacles just made us stronger. We have good intentions, and we want to make this happen. For the past 3 months, we have been approaching companies for scholarships and free goods. Many of our proposals got rejected by companies. We are still searching for companies which are willing to lend us some hands in this project. 

 During registration day for the juniors, we sold home made pizza, cookies, cupcakes, floats to raise funds. Alhamdulillah, the pizzas were very profitable. For the upcoming Ramadhan, we would like to sell at the bazaar Ramadhan to raise more funds. There's a long way to go to reach our budget.

  I believe that the journey to do good deeds is a bumpy road. Its not the destination which matters, its about the journey itself. It is all about the experiences, the bond, the initiative, learning not to be too dependent on other people, and the willingness to help the needy ones. It's not just to make our PS sounds nicer, to impress the interviewer, i think it's more towards self-development.
