Puasa tv!

Assalamualaikum. Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah. It is day 21 of Ramadhan. If we are in a race now, it's not "get, set, go" anymore but it is like we almost reach the end of the race.  So there must be an acceleration and we must be at the max speed right now to ensure that we achieve the victory, which is the blessings from Allah.

A few weeks ago, our house was visited by bees. There were so many of them in the kitchen, that my mother decided not to cook on that day. One of them even stung my sister on her foot. It was quite a surprising thing for me, because our house is not near to any forest ( duh.. like in the middle of a housing area). After one day, many of them disappeared, and many of them also ended up in the kitchen sinks. Me and my mother tried to figure out the reason for their entry, do they have a home in our home?

My mother told the neighbor next door, who was a Chinese, about the incident and she told us that when bees enter a house, good things are going to happen. It is not that I believe in Fang Shui or any of  those, but I could not help but to wait anxiously for the good things that might arise in a few days to come. Then...

A few days later, our one and only TV broke down...... errr. Yay, good things just turned up! Daniel has to live his days without Boboboi. No olympics too. Haha.
Ayah gave a funny respond,
"Bukan rosak kot, tapi puasa".

Well, maybe he is right. Perhaps the tv is fasting too. And we are fasting from tv. Then, we have been living without tv for almost a week for now, and we survived. Yeah. Without tv, we are able to focus more on other things, which are far more 'bermanfaat', like reading Islamic books, listening to dzikir. Daniel get to study more :P

Moral story:

So, here we can say that even though some things turn out to be something that we do not desire, we cannot guarantee that it is bad for us. Maybe some people want to study in Ireland, but ended up in Aussie, or India. And it is not guaranteed that getting what we desire, is the best for us. It can also be a test from Allah, to see how far and how often we can remember Him. Do we remember Him and be grateful for what He has given, after getting what we desire for? Or we "berpaling muka" and think that this is all due to our own efforts? I am asking this to my own reflection in the mirror (read: cermin muka sendiri). Have I been grateful enough?

Having this opportunity to go to Ireland, is this going to make me a better Muslim? Or am I going to be  the same person or perhaps worse that I am now? O Allah, please guide me. Amin.
